Teaching Artist Philosophy: “Cultivating confidence, freedom, and joy in self-expression is the mission of my pedagogy. Through the teaching of movement fundamentals and artistic techniques, I seek to facilitate an inclusive experience - offering resources that encourage individual exploration, community building, and artistic voice. And of course, dance is fun! Lightness is not to be taken for granted.”

Scott Stafford is a native of Detroit, MI, earning his BA from Michigan State University. He enjoys life as a performer, teaching artist, and dancing person – currently sweating, loving, and creating in Minneapolis, MN. His choreography and collaborative efforts have been presented at The Walker Art Center, The Southern Theater, Bryant Lake Bowl Theater, The Red Eye Theater, and Fresh Oysters Performance Research. As a performer, he's had the pleasure of performing the work of Dolo McComb, Karen Sherman, Stuart Pimsler, Suzanne Costello, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, and Kristy Faulkner, among others. In addition to creating movement, Scott also competes in the national ballroom scene as Edward.007, in the category of New Way Vogue. Scott views expression as vital to every individual – accessible to every body, and necessary to every lifestyle.
