The Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts serves as Minnesota’s flagship for dance, presenting world-class productions from our dynamic professional dance scene and providing administrative, rehearsal, and studio space at 50% below market value for non-profit dance, performing arts, and cultural organizations. Since first opening its doors in September 2011, The Cowles Center has welcomed nearly 950,000 patrons.

The Cowles Center complex houses forty-two administrative offices, three theaters, nine rehearsal studios, and some of Minnesota’s leading dance schools. It provides professional development for dance artists and educators, and serves thousands of K-12 students each year through its award-winning Arts in Education programming.

Whether you are a parent looking for your child’s very first dance class, a veteran performer, an adult lacing up their dance shoes for the first time in a very long time, a tenant of the building, or a supportive audience member who simply loves how movement makes them feel... this place is YOUR home.

The Cowles Center is a catalyst for the creation, performance, education, and celebration of dance and the performing arts.
