Q&A with Myron Johnson

Myron Johnson (1980)

Q: How did you start dancing?
A: I began dancing at age seven. I was walking from school to my grandma’s house and passing by my old kindergarten school. I noticed purple dinosaur prints on the sidewalk leading to the door. I followed them in, and the building had become The Moppet Players Theater (later became CTC), they were having auditions for The Reluctant Dragon. So I auditioned, got in, and never left. Minnesota Dance Theatre was also there…

Q: What's your favorite memory of The Cowles Center?
A: Sage Cowles’ smile in the front row of the balcony on Opening Celebration.

Q: What show(s) are you excited to see at The Cowles Center this season?
A: Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre – Garden of Names.

Myron Johnson’s ‘Nutcracker (not so) Suite’ runs December 15-30, presented by The Cowles Center and James Sewell Ballet. For more information and tickets, click here
