Q&A with Lise Houlton

Lise Houlton

Q: How did you start dancing?
A: Back in 1961 there was nothing more fun than going to the Playhouse in Dinkytown with my mother [Loyce Houlton, Minnesota Dance Theatre's founder] and her colleagues/company from the U of M and my neighborhood friends and spending the day in the studio dancing.

Q: What's your favorite memory of The Cowles Center?
A: I have many "favorite memories" that include watching the MDT company, students from the MDT school, and our collaborators in music and design bring a performance to life in The Goodale Theater.

Q: What show(s) are you excited to see at The Cowles Center this season?
A: I'm excited to see any and all artists that will take the stage this year at The Cowles Center, and feel especially lucky to house our company and school in such close proximity to a theater that presents such a distinctive and accomplished array of performers during its season.

Minnesota Dance Theatre will present its Fall Season (October 27-29) and Spring Season (April 20-22), as well as its production of ‘Carmina Burana’ (January 19-21) at The Cowles Center in the coming season.
