Q&A with Giselle Mejia

Q: How did you start dancing?
A: Dario and I began dancing in our living room at the age of 3 and 5. We would make up dances when the large windows turned into mirrors while the sun set. Our favorite artist was Michael Jackson.

Q: What’s your favorite memory of The Cowles Center?
A: The Cowles Center warmly welcomed me as a teaching artist in 2009 when I learned that they did not yet instruct Latin Social Dances in their Distance Learning Program. Distance Learning and First Moves are both programs that have brought me so much joy working with K-12 students in Public Education.

Q: What show are you excited to see at The Cowles Center this season?
A: I am very excited to see the second rendition of Mixtape as I know most of the dancers in the cast and this show is so hype!
