Zenon Dance Company celebrates its 33rd Spring Season after spending a three-week choreographic residency in Cassis, France, and two weeks in Havana, Cuba for three sold out performances at the historic Teatro Marti. The company’s groundbreaking approach to eclectic and virtuosic contemporary dance, and its support of emerging choreographers, continues this season with a world premiere by New York-based Sam Kim, a former Minnesota resident.

The season includes reprises of Joanna Kotze’s “Rouge,” described as “stylistically eclectic and consistently engaging, combining equal doses of precision and playfulness”; Wynn Fricke’s “The Mourning Tree,” hailed as “an intuitive movement language of shifting weights and kinesthetic response [that] creates a spellbinding harmony”; and Danny Buraczeski’s exuberant 1988 jazz work “Merry Go Round” to music by Glenn Miller and the Army Air Force Band.
