Argentina’s controversial First Lady, Eva Perón, is the subject of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s dynamic musical masterpiece. Eva Perón, "saint to the working-class, reviled by the aristocracy and mistrusted by the military" was destined to leave a fascinating political legacy unique in the 20th century. Told through a compelling score that fuses haunting chorales with exuberant Latin, pop and jazz influences, Evita creates an arresting theatrical portrait as complex as the woman herself. Winner of 7 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score, Evita features some of theater's most beautiful songs, including "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" and "High Flying, Adored."

Beginning as a rock opera concept album in 1976 from the song-writing team of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Evita went on to successful award-winning productions in London’s West End and then Broadway, where it was the first British musical to receive the Tony Award for Best Musical.  Following a string of professional tours, worldwide productions and numerous cast albums, as well as a major 1996 film, Evita has since been successfully revived in London in 2006 and on Broadway in 2012.
