“Supple as snakes and brave beyond belief!”
Shapiro & Smith Dance has a reputation for performing tales of beauty and biting wit that run the gamut from searingly provocative to absurdly hilarious. Dancing with breathtaking physicality and emotional depth they have earned an international reputation for virtuosity, substance and pure abandonment.
Join Shapiro & Smith Dance as they celebrate their 30th Anniversary Season at The Cowles Center. This landmark performance will include the Twin Cities revival of George and Betty’s House – a signature work that hasn’t been seen in the Twin Cities for more than 20 years. Performed in a toy kitchen, George and Betty’s House provides a hilarious and quirky view of domestic hell.
The evening will also see a revival of last season’s hit, Bolero, set on an all-female cast, and a world premiere, A Naked Man's Shirt, choreographed by Joanie Smith.
