Stirring contemporary and unapologetic classicism from SPCB. The company presents a mixed repertory program featuring local and national choreographers. Act One includes La Vivandiére, a pas de six of purity and youthful charm staged after Sain-Leon to music by Pugni and a new contemporary work by local choreographer, Allison Doughty Marquesen to the music of Sigur Ros.  Act Two features the work of three choreographers; L'apres-midi d'un Faune staged with new choreography by Phillip Carman, music by Claude Debussy featuring Andrew Lester, 2012 SAGE Award winner for Outstanding Performer; the fiery pulse of Bolero, Greg Drotar's work for Helena Baron first performed in the 1980's to Maurice Ravel's familiar score; Friday and Saturday evening performances include a new work by emerging choreographer, Joseph Morrisey to the music of Sylvain Chauveau performed by guest artists Jared Matthews and Yuriko Kajiya, soloists of the American Ballet Theatre who appeared on So You Think You Can Dance, performing the pas de deux from Don Quixote.
