Minnesota Dance Theatre introduces the choreography of acclaimed dancers Martine Van Hamel, (American Ballet Theatre) and Adam Hendrickson, (New York City Ballet) to Twin Cities audiences. Embracing contemporary aesthetics through the art of the Pas de Deux, Van Hamel’s lyrical Trio á Deux, set to Beethoven’s String Trio in G Major, balances Hendrickson’s quick paced duet Prestissimo, to Verdi’s String Quartet in E Minor. Also in the program will be Toccata in D Minor by Alonzo King (LINES Ballet), as well as signature Pas de Deux by MDT founder Loyce Houlton.
The evening will also present a World Premiere by Artistic Director Lise Houlton. Where’s the mystery in ordinary? Distinctly MDT, the dancers play in moods of containment in Frames/d, an ensemble piece to the music of Mozart, mostly.
