Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy continues its tradition of enchanting audiences for 48 years and remains one of Minnesota’s most treasured holiday events. The story begins at a Christmas party in 19th century Germany, and unfolds through the eyes of Marie. Her wizardly Godfather Drosselmayer weaves a magical fantasy, taking her on an extraordinary adventure to the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Experience the brilliant music of Tchaikovsky and the beautiful choreography of Loyce Houlton.

MDT’s Nutcracker Tea Parties: Minnesota’s Newest Holiday Tradition
Sat. Dec. 15 at 4:00pm & Sun. Dec. 16 at 12pm. Round out your holiday Nutcracker experience by joining us for one of Minnesota Dance Theatre’s charming and immensely popular Nutcracker Tea Parties! A sparkling sit-down event with sweet treats and sandwiches, a tour of the backstage area, take-away photograph of guests 12 and under with select cast members, and a distinctive memento. - all for only $49 (children 12 & under) and $54 (adults) including fees. Minnesota Dance Theatre (MDT) was founded in 1962 by Loyce Houlton, one of the first American women to gain international recognition as a choreographer, teacher and producer.
